History

Over the centuries, myths and legends have depicted the East Asian dragon in a multitude of forms with numerous different traits. A few dragons have crystallised out of these myths to become the most honoured among their kind. To these noble dragons, deeply rooted in East Asian culture and possessed of great powers, Montblanc dedicates a very special limited edition. The tenth in the series features the responsive Winged Dragon. This majestic character winds around the cap and barrel and has green sapphires for its eyes. While its artfully sculpted head decorates the handcrafted, Ag 925 sterling silver cap as a relief, its body moulds itself to the barrel as a delicate engraving studded with brilliant-cut diamonds. The colour gradient from dark green to lighter emerald green on the barrel's lacquer surface refers to the characteristic colour of the Winged Dragon. The design is further enriched with fittings made of solid Au 750 gold and a green tourmaline set in the cone. The handcrafted, solid Au 750 gold nib bears a delicate engraving of the Hong sign from the oracle bone script of the Shang dynasty: a bow-shaped dragon with a head at both ends. The cap top is crowned with the Montblanc emblem inlaid in black onyx and covered with sapphire glass.
