The story of the two lovers, who perish due to the enmity between their families, is to this day one of the most pertinent and moving literary works ever written. The Montblanc Meisterstück Romeo and Juliet collection is dedicated to this milestone in world literature. Limited to 715 pieces, the Ag 925 cast sterling silver cap and barrel of the Limited Edition Fountain Pen are adorned with a pattern of leaves, some of them lacquered in different shades of green. Perched in the foliage on the cap are two solid Au 750 gold doves, symbols of the purity and truth of Romeo and Juliet’s love for one another, a love untainted by the hatred that plagues their families. The barrel carries an inlay of a solid Au 750 gold full moon, its textured surface evoking the familiar features of Earth’s lunar companion, depicted as if peeping out from behind a veil of leaves. In acknowledgement of the intensity of the couple’s affection, the Montblanc emblem on the cap is made of mother-of-pearl, and set in a red jasper stone. The handcrafted, solid Au 750 gold nib is embossed with the initials ‘R’ and ‘J’, the first letters of their names, Romeo and Juliet, honoring these archetypal star-crossed lovers, whose tragic story has touched people's hearts for centuries.
