Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) was a Spanish painter, ceramic artist, sculptor and print maker who often mixed various styles to create new interpretation of what he saw. He took great part in the foundation of Cubism and devoted almost 80 years of his life to artistic production which made him an influential artist from the 20th century.

The skeletonized 750 solid gold cap is engraved with Picasso’s work 'Portrait de jeune fille' and Picasso's comments and offers a view on the nib.
Top of the Cap
The emblem is made of mother-of-pearl.
Clip
The profile of the 'Portrait de jeune fille' is pictured by the filigree clip.
Design
The simple shape of the writing instrument is reminiscent of the pencils Picasso used for his sketches. The design is inspired by his writing and sketch 'Portrait de jeune fille' from 1936. The barrel is made of black lacquer whereas the cap is made of Au750 solid gold.
Cone
The red lacquered stripes on the Au750 solid gold cone represent the national colors of Spain.
Feather
The rhodium-coated Au750 solid gold nib is decorated with his drawing "Ojo".
