Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) was a Spanish painter, ceramic artist, sculptor and print maker who often mixed various styles to create new interpretation of what he saw. He took great part in the foundation of Cubism and devoted almost 80 years of his life to artistic production which made him an influential artist from the 20th century.

The skeletonized Au750 solid white gold cap offers the view on the nib and is engraved with Picasso’s comments and sketches on his work 'Portrait de jeune fille'. This famous piece of art decorates the upper part of the cap.
Top of the Cap
The cap top is adorned with a Montblanc diamond (~0,5 ct.).
Clip
The profile of the 'Portrait de jeune fille' is pictured by the filigree clip.
Design
The simple shape of the writing instrument is reminiscent of the pencils Picasso used for his sketches. The design is inspired by his writing and sketch 'Portrait de jeune fille' from 1936. The lacquer of the barrel resembles concrete – as a reference to many of Picasso‘s sculptures.

The red lacquered stripes on the Au750 solid white gold cone represent the national colours of Spain.
