James Watt (1736-1819) was a Scottish engineer and inventor, known for dramatically improving the steam engine and inventor of the term 'horsepower'. The development of efficient steam engine made Great Britain the first industrialized society leading to a remarkable economic growth.

Cap
The cap resembles a cylinder with its typical reinforcement rings.
Top of the Cap
The emblem is made of mother-of-pearl.
Clip
The clip is shaped like Watts regulator with its double weights, designed to lift and move apart when in motion.
Design
The writing instrument is made of several precious materials: rhodium coated Au750 solid white Skeleton overlay, transparent resin underlay, Au750 yellow gold Mechanic and PVD-coated black titanium cap tube. The skeleton overlay in three layers is inspired by James Watt’s technical reinvention of the steam engine. His numerous patents and inventions are represented by the diamonds on the cap and barrel (~0,97 ct.) and the single diamond on the cone (~0,37 ct.).
Cone
The cone is inspired by the classical shape of a fluted pillar and is crowned with a diamond and set with numerous diamonds within the grooves of the fluting.
Feather
The rhodium-coated Au750 solid gold nib is engraved with a horse referring to the power unit 'horsepower' Watt invented.
Limitation
Limited to 3 pieces in reference to the effectiveness of the steam engine of 3%.
