History

Diego Rivera (1886 – 1957) – a well-known Mexican painter who in his art pieces tried to reflect the lives of the working class and native people of Mexcio. In 1929 he married Frida Kahlo who both shared opinion in rather radical politics and Marxism.

Cap
The skeleton cap in its square shape is reminding of the staircase of the National Palace, in which Diego Rivera produced enormous murals celebrating the history of Mexico. The radiant orange of the cap recalls the dominant color of Diego Rivera’s paintings.
Top of the Cap
The emblem is made of mother-of-pearl.
Clip
The sapphire (~0,03 ct.) on the clip, symbolising the sun, is inspired by one of his artworks.
Design
As homage to this important Mexican painter the design is inspired by his impressive works. The black lacquered barrel with Au750 solid signature gold intarsia is reminiscent of Mexican ornaments.
